Royal history meets Highland beauty at Gairnshiel Lodge. From Queen Victoria's pilgrimages to A modern retreat, this Scottish sanctuary has offered the same extraordinary landscape and intimate luxury for over a century - just 10 minutes from Balmoral Castle.

Commissioned by the current owners who have expertly renovated the space in a Belgian inspired material led haven, 2 works - This Silence (2023) and This Is Us (2023) - celebrate Gairnshiel Lodge and the sacred value of home; a cornerstone of quiet, contemplation and kinship.

A place to retreat - into ourselves and into each other. Representing timeless design, human stories, clanship and ritual; the work unites four primitive elements stitched together to represent a perfectly imperfect holistic vision.

SUSTAINABILIY

Created using exclusively recycled OEKO-TEX textiles, small-batch natural inks, and FSC certified hardwood framing. Each element chosen to align with Gairnshiel Lodges’ environmental values and to craft and sustainable luxury hospitality.

FORM + STRUCTURE

Quiet abstract geometric compositions created through overlapping textile layers. Stitch and embossing create dimensional relief while combining clean pressed edges with thread details for subtle complexity.

COLOUR

2 palettes: one light, one dark. Both use natural pigments create unique depth variations to work in harmony with each spaces colour palette.
