A quiet and contemplative place, Leith Studio nestles in the hustle and bustle of the city of Edinburgh. A place to retreat, reflect, celebrating a ‘coming home’; a place to be yourself. This Hollow Heart (2023). A poignant and deeply personal journey through death, grief and sorrow. A celebration of hope and life; a reminder of our impermanence, that our shadows can lead to new and ever abundant light.

SUSTAINABILIY

Created using exclusively recycled OEKO-TEX textiles, small-batch natural inks, and FSC certified hardwood framing. Each element chosen to align with Leith Studios’ values.

FORM + STRUCTURE

Layers of reclaimed industry linen interweave and shadow each other, creating purposeful negative spaces and new forms within. Layer upon layer of acrylic paint and ‘weathering’ techniques set the layers in solid formation. An eventual haptic ‘tapestry’ is formed.

COLOUR

Conceptualized with the Leith Studio, natural pigments create unique depth variations to work in harmony with the the Japanese-Nordic inspired interior palette.
